I've not used them in the field, but saw them all at the last trade show, was very impressed with the Rover ST2 and ST4, I think they outgun the Promax in both performance and usability.

I'm seriously considering selling the Swires Annie to buy the ST4.

I havent tried the Rover ST4 & ST2 but i am seriously considering buying a Rover DM-14B Digimax (for €2000)
The promax Explorer i have used and i was not impressed with its tuner.

The new ones are great, only 2KGs, the older ones like the DM-14 are 5KGs, there has been a minor revolution in spectrum analyser performance and weight.

Well...the new & light ones all have LCD screens while the older models use CRT screens which doesnt help the weight issue or battery consumption..

Yes, the weight is mainly because of the CRT and the power required to run it, I still take my EP313 with me when I'm installing systems though, as I can use it as an FM radio whilst I'm connecting the multiswitches. :)

The twin displays on the latest Rover units are a real plus point, plus the onscreen channel list for the DTT side of the unit.

I still use my EP314 on daily basis and to be honest i have still yet to find another meter with a tuner responsive as EP314..
Still,i know i will sooner or later have to purchese something more up to date..

@rolf
Do you have any idea of Rover/Unaohm prices in UK?
