Hi, got question:

To upload a image to DM500s what cable is the right one, the Serial RS232 (straight) wired serial cable or Null Modem Cable?? :-doh!

You need a serial rs232 null modem cable.

that is it's title, the cable should be female to remale and have 9 pin's on either end.

It should be explained in the idiot guides which one to get

Null modem cable. It is an RS232 cable where the transmit and receive connections are crossed.
