Hello All

Just getting into this stuff.

I use FireFox 1.06 and have added several feeds to my bookmarks.

e.g. 'http://www.npr.org/rss/rss.php?id=2'

which is for a programme called All Things Considered from NPR and links from Reuters and the Gruniaad.

All of the items I have added produce a 'sub menu' to the right of the entry for the feed showing the latest headlines, and I'm pretty sure this is what is suppose to happen.

However there is one that I have tried that doesn't do this it is:

This just seems to produce a standard Bookmark to a page on the BBC Site.

Can anyone throw any light on this.

Kind regards

W. H.

Use the BBC RSS feed works OK for me - but that doesn't help you.

Have you tried deleting it and loading it again?

Thanks for the replies.

I can get the page to display OK, but with the other links:

Guardian Unlimited
NPR ATC + about 5 others
Reuters

etc...

I get a sub menu showing the headlines before any pages are actually loaded.

I am using Firefox and there are two options.

1. Using the Top Menu and Bookmarks I can get a cascading Menu with Sub Menus for the Headline items.

or

2. I can view the Bookmarks in a Side Bar and again except for the BBC I get sub menus with the headline items.

Is anyone else using Firefox in this way?

It looks as though the BBC have decided to use a different format to all the other RSS Feeds I have tried so far.

I have tried inserting a couple of screen captures to try to explain a bit better, but can't work out how to do it!!

Yours in frustration

Hello R.

Thanks for your reply - but I am too thick to understand.

You say 'Go into manage attachments and then browse and then upload'

BUT

I don't know where I am supposed to be when I 'Go into....'

Is this an option somewhere in FireFox? - or What?

Sorry!

Regards

W.H...

Click the edit button on your post, then scroll down the page to manage attachments and click on it, you will then get the browse boxes and if you click on the first one, you can browse your computer for the picture. :)

Thanks R.

Have now appended images of both the Side Bar and Top Menu from my Firefox v1.2

Hope this make the situation clearer.

Any idea how to get the sub menus from BBC, or do they just have a different version of XML?

Kind regards

Hello Again R.

Panic over - I have found the answer.

With the other feeds Firefox seems to automatically recocognize them as 'Live BookMarks'.

BUT with the BBC ones you have to specify New Live Bookmark in the Edit Menu of Bookmarks Manager when adding them.

Kind regards

W.H.
