Amos 2 should be no problem with anything slightly bigger than standard (80+). Amos 1 is receivable on the dishes that are bigger than 3m but the weather plays havoc with the signals

I've been trying to program 4w into my receiver without success. Is there an idiots guide on how to do it anywhere have you seen? Cheers for any help you can offer.

What type of receiver do you have eagle-man.
Sure someone here will have the same receiver, and be able to give you some tips.
Do you have a manual for receiver ?

Hi Rob, its an echostar 880 2ci, I had a manual but the baby destroyed it. The installed pre-programmed most of the satellites and channels, but didn't do amos2. It would be handy to get it, especially if the ones on sirius move to amos as well.

I tried all sorts of things leading off from the installation menu, but couldn't get the dish to move to 4w at all. It kept finding open sky channel, but looking at lyngsat its on 7e or7w if my memory serves me right. In the end I gave up and sought solace in beer.

Got some good news for Christmas, have just come across two new (well they are as far as I know) channels on Sirius.
Perviy Kanal program id 6120, and Kanal 5 program id 6190. Both are on 11766H and FTA. They both seem to be Ukrainian, although the English film on Kanal 5 was in Russian.
Also can anyone receive RTR Planeta on 12073H (Sirius) 27500 3/4. Is it FTA or BISS.
I'm picking these channels up with a 70cm dish so it should not be any problem for you big boys.

Kanal 5 started about a month back, TRK Kiev started about a week ago. (Both 11766H 27500 3/4

RTR Planet is Viaccess 2.4

This may be of interest to some folks - I recently bought a 1m solid dish, and I can now get the Sirius 3 channels. Reception isnt brilliant, and drops out as soon as the rain starts. My location is about 30 miles south of Edinburgh.

I can get it fine aswell with an 80cm dish in Manchester, TV sport Romania is a cracking channel - especially if you're into Spanish football.

Has anyone come across a Russian entertainment channel called PKV on Hotbird ?
It is supposed to be at 12597V, 27500, 3/4, should be able to pick it up with a 70cm dish, and is FTA.

Lots of Concerts on over the Russian New Year & Christmas holidays (Jan 1/Jan 10).
Worth looking up (except CH) especially if you have a Russian wife.

Thanks for the heads-up Rob. But your post was too late to save me. I'm already half way though her second concert tonight. Must drink harder....

I've just placed an order for a second lnb and a braked to attach it to my current dish. I'm going to try for the Russian/Ukrainian channels at 5E as well as the 13E stuff we currently get. Fingers crossed.

Sorry, if this has appeared elsewhere on the site but...

The three RTVi channels on 13E (11.938 H 27500 3/4) are currently unencrypted.

Does anybody have any more info? Like, how long?

On another note I finally got my second lnb fitted so I can watch the channel at 5E too. It only required minor modifications to the lnb bracket. :D

Spotted this on a German site. Its been googled to translate it

Russian TV channel is coded
starting from 18 April 2005 the Russian TV channel Perviy channel Vsemirnaya is coded setj. The new coding system Ruskrypt will be used.

Channel One Russia, so the English translation, is radiated via Hot Bird 6, 12.597 GHz v (SR 27500, FEC 3/4) in the context of the Globecast package.
