I'm wondering if an upgrade in my dish/lnb setup would allow me to see more sats, does anyone know of a website with a list of footprints and dish sizes.

I'm in Chorley, Lancs if anyone could provide any info about what they get on their setup.

cheers

Lyngsat has links to them all. On the right hand side of the channel details, click the beam name.

Sorry, should have said that some give dish sizes, and some give power in dBW.

I'm in South Manchester with a 100 cm channel master, 0.6 lnb. I can get 30W, 1W, 5E (though it was subject to fading in the evening). Ironically, the dish is now pointed mostly at 19E and 28E which I think I could use a minidish for!

at the min i get 19e, 13, 5e, 1w, 30w though 1w and 5e are a bit hit and miss in bad weather.

thats on my current 80cm mesh dish and 0.6db lnb.

just be interesting to see how much i could get if i upped ot a 1m solid dish and 0.3db lnb...

you'll probably pull in 1w better; i have it rock solid, even though the chimney stack obscures the dish when it is pointing in that direction

from what i've read, 5e is subject to fading no matter what, and especially worse in the evening

An 80 cm gives me

Hispasat 1B / 1C / 1D (30W)
Atlantic Bird 2 / Telecom 2D (8 W)
Atlantic Bird 3 (5W)
Thor 2 / 3 (1W) (not much)
Sirius 2 / 3 (5E) (no Sirius 3 channels, 1m dish needed for S3)
Eutelsat W3A (7E) (including Turkish beam channels)
Eutelsat W1 (10E)
Hotbird 1 / 2 / 3 / 4 / 6 (13 E)
Eutelsat W2 (16E) (most tp's)
Astra 1B-C / E-H, 2C (19.2E)
Astra 3A (23.5E) (some tp'd in good weather)
Arabsat 3A (26 E)
Astra 2A / 2B / 2D / Eurobird (28.2 E)
Hellas Sat 2 (39 E)
Turksat 1C / Eurasiasat 1 (42E)

Trees get in the way of 8W - 30W. I reckon you could add in W3 at 21E to that list too. Havent got round to looking for it yet

5E Sirius 2 rock solid here :D

at the min my limits are 19e and 30w, but if i move my dish to the corner of the building i reckon i could reach as far east and west as my motor would allow, but the dish wouldnt be quite as hidden from the weather conditions.
