As far as I know, none of the multiple outlets like B&Q do them, so you'll probably struggle, local sat and aerial suppliers are normally not open on Sundays.

Too late now but Maplin stores open Sundays, I think they sell brackets.

If you can see your PC screen, then you can use the transponder scan function in ProgDVB (I assume that's what you are going to use).
I always use it for dish tweaking when I need to.
You can use the windows magnifier function to make it huge so you can see the numbers on the scale from 30 feet away if need be.

Any reason why it shouldn't ??
They're normally OK unless they've suffered mechanical abuse of some sort.

Sure it'll be fine, are you doing this out there now ??

Yes - you dont actually have to scan, but just select the transponder from the drop down on the right then use small SLOW movements in a sweep of where you think you need to be.
Then adjust the dish up or down and do it again till you find what you are looking for.

Keep us posted this evening.

Yes - smallish movements of a few mm at a time then.
As dish size increases, beamwidth decreases remember.

lancelot,
what would be the best transponder frequency to go after (one that i know will be the strongest and there will be a signal being sent out (hotbird13e)

Any at all from 13E.
They should all be knocking down your door with a 100cm antenna in the UK.
You should be looking to get 90% or so signal from the SS2 with ProgDvb.

bloody hell its getting cold,
lancelot while i'm having a brew a couple of questions,
1 i have got setup4pc now when this was first installed i have skydish pointing at astra, are these settings embedded so that even though i'm scanning for hotbird it thinks my dish is alighned with astra so will this make a difference
2 at the bottom right hand side setup4pc has a satelite icon on a red dot background and when it is picking a signal up this goes to green, would it be a good idea if my wife stood watching the screen (hoping for a green dot now and then while i inpersonated a motor )slowly turned the dish across the sky then she could tell me whether any signal was picked up from anywhere (or is the cold getting to my brain)

My advice would be to use ProgDvb, as you get a better display and it's what you'll be using anyway when you get the dish aligned.
But use the green dot by all means.

Gonna be off for an hour or so while I travel from work, but keep posting and I or somebody else will pick it up.

thanks lancelot,:-beer
i got signal about 30mins ago on average between 65% and 50% in some cases less, i know its week but its mine:-annoy . but its tooooo bloody cold to carry on outside (so i'll do some more fetling (is that the right word) tomorrow
now i'm up and running i (as always have another question) i know when a program has a green v i should (thought i should) be able to watch it but on some channels its a blank screen i.e.black is this because their not transmitting at this time as in blue sreen on sky or could it be week signal)
or is it an encripted channel and i have not got the keys or whatever
cheers mate

Nice one :-bighappy

Depends on what it is - it could be either, but more likley with ProgDvb it's an encrypted channel not showing up as such.

Do a full scan if you haven't already and then click on channelist then global and let's see how many channels you've got :D
