are they allowing freedom in the choice of email (eg: hotmail) or still insisting on a "real" one? I'll only register there if they abandon that ridiculous restriction, especially as in the past they've been hacked and their database of "real" (read: traceable) email addresses stolen.

I joined up in July02 and they didnt allow my hotmail account then.Not sure if it is still the same though.

No as far as I know Hotmail addresses are taboo, having said that I can appreciate the reason why. They've had several incidences of idiots having been thrown off , only to return an hour later with a new hotmail address. Also great for spammers.....
