I've bought an SLX Satellite Finder (sight unseen), and want to use it to setup a Diseqc motorised system, but the packaging says it is not for use on motorised.

I have a cable from the receiver to the motor, and then a cable from the motor to the LNB on my setup.

I can understand that you wouldn't want to put it between the motor and the receiver because it probably can't handle the drive current, but would it it OK to put it between the motor and the LNB? I don't want to wreck anything.

Thanks

Adam

Thanks Sean

I want to be able to move the motor and tweak the positions for each satellite, so I want to leave the connection to the motor in place if possible - did you ever try this?

Also, did you find it more sensitive than the builtin signal meter on the receiver?

I have used the Lidl meter connected between the LNB and the motor and it worked fine.

It has a tone function - I could leave it outside and move the dish from inside and hear when it found a position.

You can still pick them up on eBay for under a tenner.
