Hi there

My sat receiver shows 100% signal and 100% quality but auto-tuning doesn't find any channels; am I pointed at the wrong bird or is there something else going on?

Yes, classic case of being on the wrong Satellite.

You are probably on 19.2E or 23.5E, so gently move the dish very slightly further East (and decrease the elevation a tiny bit) to the next strong signal and try that. Repeat if necessary.

Compasses are no more than a rough guide as they can be affected by the proximity of the dish and, in any event, Satellite positions are often only around three degrees apart.

Spot on; left a bit and down a bit and I'm in business. Thanks for your help.

The old "left hand down a bit" ploy works every time! :D
