I've just got a ID Digital F-10E with no instructions from an auction (I thought it was a Freeview box-oops!:-doh2 )
I've managed to retune it from Hotbird to Astra but am now flummoxed as it picks up stations but doesn't let me view them (with some exceptions like regional BBC1).
Do need another dish, get ot modded or bin/sell it?

These are encrypted channels that you need to subscribe to or buy a viewing card for or pirate **** like most of us do, plenty of info about m8, happy searching,

Welcome to the forum kirstysdad

Well as far as viewing FTA channels it will be fine but you sound like you are wanting more and will not get them on 28.2East. It is encrypted using NDS and is secure, thus you will be very limited in what you view. I'm afraid if you want sky channels you will have to pay for them regardless of whatever whispers you may have heard and you will need a dedicated digital sky receiver easily obtainable on ebay or a specialist Linux receiver like a dreambox with dragon cam

Dreambox doesn't need a Dragon cam to read a $ky card.

I think the Digital F-10E is FTA (Free To Air) only.

So you cant watch encrypted channels on it. Unless it can be patched?

But you can still use it to watch the BBC and ITV channels, and any thing else that is free on 28e and all other satellites.;)
