Satellite vs cable - which is best?

I live in London and want to get either satellite or cable (NTL/TeleWest) and want to know your thoughts on which is best in terms of:

- picture & sound quality
- range of channels
- customer service

How does interactive compare over the two?

Anything else you think I should know to make a better informed decision?

My Satellite Setup
Technomate 5402 HD M2 Ci, DM7000s, Transparent 80cm Dish, Moteck SG2100 DiseqC motor, lots of legacy gear. Meters: Satlook Digital NIT, Promax HD Ranger+ spectrum analyser.
My Location
Berkshire
No contest as far as I'm concerned GilesX123, Satellite wins hands down. Whether it be Sky against a cable package, or a combination of Sky and perhaps some European satellite, using a steerable dish.
