These monitors are fitted inside a larger case with other stuff ...so custom units which are made to take a specific crt monitor ..such as a 12v VCR ..
yep ..old gear..
So better that it physically fits.

You are talking about a flight case that has to handle EHT from the inside, and moisture and shit from the outside.

Many good (and I mean good) LCD monitors working on 12-15v with VGA/SVGA inputs out there.
