Guys

Whilst waiting for the new conax files I thought I'd heve a crack at 13 deg east.

I've borrowed an Aston cam and read a lot of the threads. I have downloaded at least ten sets of files but none of them are clearing (using a tit card). I also tried using an emulator and that has been equally unsuccessful. I'm using a technomate receiver and the same setup (with a Magicam) has always done i deg west.

I'm missing something fundamental which is why I'm turning to the forum.

I read a couple of days ago about some Aston cams not working with the tit card but I dont know which version I got.

Is there anyone out there that might shed some light. There usually is!

Cheers guys

what firmware is the aston cam? i think it has to be 1.05. you can find that out in the usual CI information area on your sat box.

I did read a thread about the 'version' being significant so I did interrogate the menus under CI but there was no mention of 1.03 or 1.05.

I did read a previous thread which suggested there might not be a 1.04

I believe that the 1.04 is similar to the 1.05.

Take a look at http://www.lefdata.com/satellite/cam/ , click on CI Cams and scroll down to Aston Cams. Identify the part number of your Cam (on the back) and you should be able to tell what version you have.

The site for the cams is a must for all sat enthusiasts. I've bookmarked it.

It confirmed 2 things for me. First, I have a version 1.05 and, secondly, 1.04 doesn't exist - but there is a 1.07.

In summary, I'm back where I started, I still cant crack sky italia!

1. 1.04 does infact exist. i have it on one of my aston cams as i write this.
2. 1.05 works with a correctly programmed tit card.
3. you seem confused about things and that maybe affecting your ability to do what you're attempting to do.
4. i can assure you about the validity of the above 3 points.
5. check that your reciever is compatible with your cards etc.

I've read previous threads & my setup appears compatible, Aston CAM, Technomate 5500, 1.05 OS.

Reading some threads on toecutters it would appear that the obvious thing I'm missing is the Aston editor which unlocks the card. It suggests that merely inputting epp & hex files will not work.

Your thoughts??

Can someone ACTUALLY confirm that they've programmed epp & hex into a tit card and got it to clear seca 2 WITHOUT unlocking with the aston software.

cheers

we just did, i think, twice ;)

just make sure your recievers firmware is ok and keep trying different files till you get it working. also have you read that you need to initialise on a fta channel? ie tune to a fta then turn off your reciever then turn on again to that fta then turn over to a scrammbled channel and see if you've got a working set.

close this thread now guys. :)

"Channel Hopper 1.03 also functions with the right files

and me too for that matter.........unless of course you know different.

lol,
netjunkie.

please close this thread. i can see where it's going and it won't be going in the direction of "unlocking" an open cam. lol.
