OK - have got my Moteck SG2100 setup - works a treat on my Fortec Ultra with USALS.

However, with my DB................. 'O'-red

First tried with Hydra Zeus - set the motor to 70ma & no GotoX. Stored 28e, 19e & 13e with no real problem.

However, the dish only moves intermittently. Sometimes if I change to a channel on, say, 13e the box will say 'switch - no signal' (or similar) then 30 secs later turn the dish. Sometimes it will never turn the dish. Sometimes it will turn the dish immediately.

Tried the latest RuDream image - this seems marginally better. Will turn the dish between 19e & 28e no problem back & fore - but sometimes 'forgets' to turn to 13e.

I notice that some people seem to have similar problems (such as Wobbler).

Does anyone else run a SG2100 & DB7000 together? & If so what image/setup etc?

Running mine with the Zeus image and 80ma on the power setting, works perfectly, also worked with Black Tiger.

I'm wondering whether this may be a power issue? Not enough power to turn the motor?

I was going to try unplugging my hard-disk & see if its any better?

I'm really getting fudged off with this now O-st

My £90 Fortec works a treat - why can't the Dreambox????

also, I have got a 30m run of cable tween the motor & receiver (as I'm yet to finalise my installation).

Maybe too long? Or does this not matter?

Hi

I got both the SG and the dreambox, and I think the best ever image for go to xx is the SF image. Only thin though is that I use the 5620. I have almost given up on the whole motor thing until I found the latest SF image works great. I did not even have to store any channels, I leave it on go to xx ...
Some tips: 1) it seems to be better to use a FTA channel when switching sats
2) Once you chosen your channel and got the message that the motor is moving, choose another channel in the same sat.

Using DB7000s and SG2100 motor with Hydra image.

Once I had stored the satellite positions, by moving dish using remote, it switches channels OK.

The GoToXX function has always been problematic.

Didn't set any power setting to the motor if that helps.

well I had an hours fiddling before I went out last night.

I flashed Olympia on (based on 1.07) & this worked OK for the few minutes I played with it - could switch between 28e,19e & 13e OK.

As an update - went back to Zeus & it all seems to be working OK ?

Motor moves - channels appear :)

Can't think what I have done differently though.......

Has anyone tried the recalculate function? I assume as the SG2100 has a built-in Sat table, I can find Hotbird then do a recalculate which will shift all the other birds? ie instead of storing all the positions manually, I can just used a 'shifted' table in the motor?
