Shocks from the Dreambox ?

Does anyone else get static/electric tingles/shocks when disconnecting leads from the back ? I get these even when the Power is off and disconnected. I get shocks most times touching the casing when removing cables, also get them from the actual cables too, like when removing the Null Modem cable and also the LNB cable.

Have I set something up wrong, or is this a usual thing ?

We were talking about this a while ago, and earth the box was the reply. You just learn to live with them anyway dont use the gel any more for my hair.

It makes nervous when having to reflash, done it 4 times now and now using latest Hydra, so hope I won't have to touch the damn thing )(-red for a bit anyway ;)

I have had the Gemini image working, but I was experimenting and might have messed it up.

If you see my last post in the topic DB5620 Storing Sats, as I have some question re gotofunction, as ideally I'd like to get this to work, as I don;t want to have to manually do each Sat.

I have my PC comunicating with my DB now (thorugh LAN), so I just need to learn how do get all the essential files onto the DB and of course get my motor to work right.

BTW, my motor is a SG2100.

Static can build up in anyone although some people appear to be more prone to it than others. My theory is carpets, walking around on nylon carpets can charge you up ( or even driving a vehicle with nylon carpets ). There are theories that work on the principle of your state of health, others on the humidity of the room you are. As a rule of thumb before approaching any electronic equipment earth yourself 1st. My car after it has been driven about 9 miles charges up and when I get out and lock it up usually I get zapped.
