Has anyone tried connecting one of the new SKY+ 160 units via its USB port to a computer to see if it uploads a "plug and play" driver and if so what options the driver configuration gives you?

Are you offering to try?

I'm sure lots of people heard would love to know the result?

I know I would.

OK Just hooked up my laptop .....zilch...nada...zero. No plug n play functionality, total zilch.

tried both ports......to usb 1.1 and usb2.0 on the lappy.
So.....no firmware drivers installed yet, at least not on the windows platform....will boot up in linux tomorrow on other machine and see what I can sniff out!

Why SLY put usb-port to some units?

Is it possible to copy recordings out from those boxes?
Data is encrypted?

i use the usb ports to charge my XDA2 lol, as its on orange and the signal is bad where i am i can have it on charge and on the window sill by plugging the usb active sync cable into the sky+ box. i have to remove the SD card first though as it gets formatted otherwise (doesnt do this to MMC card though)
