Just wondering if any of you have some experience on this.
Basically the question is: can I use a voip phone adapter (having signed up to a service provider, UK phone number) to connect to the Sky+HD box and rent movies in the Sky Store or in the Box Office section?

To be honest, I don't see why not. But I haven't had any experience with this.

I`ve heard of people using a voip adapter in the past but dont know if it still works

Really theres nothing stopping you from calling sky up using a voip line and telling them what boxoffice movie you want to order, its 6 and two 3`s really

well, i wouldn't wanna call every time, plus ordering by phone means an extra 1GBP on top of the rental fee.

I have experience with this. The answer is that is depends on your box. I used to have Thomson HD boxes and they will phone home fine with a tweak of the Mic/Speaker gain in the VOIP settings (I use DrayTel). Amstrad DRX-890s will not successfully call home in my experience.

In the old days the Pace 2600C1 would not call home over VOIP - a problem as these were the favoured receiver overseas.
