I am thinking of getting a sky+ box from ebay or a back of a lorry ;-) so i can use the digital out connection to me amp as this should be much better for audio. As I am not worried about recording tv do I still need a 2nd line out to make the box work?

If it's only a digital sound out that you want then don't forget that the Sony VT750 and VT760, both sadly now out of production, had an optical sound output.

If it's Dolby Digital as well that you want (on programmes that offer it) then you will need the $ly + box unfortunately.

Sorry, don't know whether the plusbox has to have the second LNB input connected.

No, the + box will work on one LNB connection. Just means the PVR facilities aren't available without the second LNB. The digital out is optical.
