I'm told this is possible, but apart from the sky+ box, I will need at least a dual LNB....does a dual or quadruple LNB need an extra cable running from the dish to the receiver? I'm sure it doesn't but a colleague tells me it does, and I want to prove he's wrong!
thanks,
ll

Yes it does need the extra cable from LNB to receiver, unfortunately your colleague is right. DOH. :) Don't you just hate it when that happens. ;)

lutek you are sort of half right.you dont need the second cable if you dont want to use the record features of your sky+ box. but if you do,then your friend is right you need the 2nd cable

Twag42, Rolf: thanks. If I wanted to record one channel, and not watch another channel, i.e. basically use the machine like a vcr, would a single LNB suffice?
===========
It I switch to a dual LNB, and I opt for the second cable, I understand that there's two dish cable inputs on the rear of the box?
===========
Finally, I'm thinking of getting a sky+ box delivered thru simplydigital...as I'm in Poland, I won't be plugging in a phone line at the rear of the box..does the phone input need to be disabled? I got my current pace box thru a firm in uk which specialised in servicing wannabe sky viewers across europe - they've gone bust and I have no idea if they tweaked this before sending it to me.

cheers, ll
