I transferred my Skystar2 PCI card to my new computer (amd64 4000, asus a8n m/b, nvidia 7800GT graphics).
It worked OK until I added ss2diseqc files, now I get no sound or vision even tho' Progdvb starts OK and shows no error messages.
I tried both 1.8 and 1.9 versions of ss2diseqc and get the same problem.
If I revert to the original Skynet.sys the sound and vision return, although of course I can't move my dish.
Any ideas anybody?
Thanks

look at the skystar2pci driver which is it then when you change skynet.sys it must be same version ( read post (from start to finish) in motorised section you might get a better understanding)
if you suceed let people know how you did it (it helps)

I'm using skynet.sys version 4.3.2 (latest one from technisat site) as it is the only one that seems to be stable with my new machine, previous versions caused lock-ups. 4.2.11 gives blank screen even before I replace it.
Unfortunately there doesn't seem to be a corresponding ss2diseqc version available yet for 4.3.2.
I wonder if anyone else with a similar spec machine has found a way round this?

Ended up putting the card back in the old machine so I could move dish to 30w for the Man U match, shame about the result, you can't help rooting for 'em can you?
BTW excellent guide Bronking, I struggled for about a fortnight trying to set up my Moteck correctly - eventually realised I set up latitude and declination the wrong way round on the motor scales - 40/50 instead of 50/40.

After much further experimentation it seems that the 4.3.2 drivers are not stable in my system either, as it it still locks up.
I think I found the answer (though not a solution) in the latest troubleshooting pdf for Technisat.
I Quote:-

Question: Are there any known compatibility issues in combination with main
boards, which are based on the nVidia nForce 4 chipset?
Answer: Currently we know, that our drivers are not compatible to most main boards, which are based on the nVidia nForce4 chipset.

As I have Asus A8N which is nVidia nForce4 based, it sounds like I'm stuffed.
Choose your next chipset with care folks.

don't give up yet,
trying changing driver to 4.2.11, (i mean fully, as in uninstall 4.3.2 completly and when reinstalled 4211 check on your system that it is 4211 before you go any further) then see if you can see pictures if you can, then change skynet.sys from ss2disqu1.17 and dll and exe from 1.18 and see how you go
good luck (ive been there)
remember check control panel>system>hardware>device manager>network adaptor>technisat>driver

I did all that you suggest and still get lock-ups/BSOD's.
I mailed Technisat asking about compatible drivers and got the following reply:-

"Dear Sir

it is known that the nforce 4 chipset itself has generell problems with
power and data rates on the PCI.
It is an issue of HW of NVIDIA not of our drivers.
I would not operate the card in that motherboard. Due to NFORCE chipset it
can kill the SkyStar and/or the motherboard itself.

Support Team"

Maybe i'll mail Nvidia next.

Hmm seems I'm not the only one who's had problems, others have damaged their motherboards, see link below.

I think I better keep my Skystar2 in my old machine:(
