Hello everyone

I bought a SkyStar2 PCI a few weeks ago and then found out it didnt work on my motherboard (Asus A8N-E, doesnt work with nForce4 boards)

Anyone know a workaround, except for, obviously, buying a new motherboard ?

Cheers

Might be a better option posting this in the "PC Card Systems & Internet by Satellite" section for more help than in here.

I blew 2 Asus boards with a skystar2, I now have a DFI LAN NF4 Expert motherboard and it works a treat. Your only other option is to buy a USB reciever, but make sure its USB2 to recieve HD.

Is it just Asus motherboards that the skystar blows? What motherboards are acceptable?:(

Not sure, can only speak from my experience. Certainly dont use a skystar2 with a Asus A8N-SLi Premium nForce4 SLi or you will blow it. I now have a DFI LAN party NF4 Epert and that works fine with it.

Thi sort of problems should be clearly pointed out on technistars site, they should at leat have a clue as to what works and what doesn't. Instead they just say nforce4 is a no no and for all other chipsets to get the latest chipset driver.
Also their support line, or should I say email support is useless. It's a shame. O-no
