My Satellite Setup
Virgin V+HD XL Technomate 6800 Astra+Hotbird FTA on 60 cm dish

i have one of these spare from my old Sky+ installation and i have discovered i can remove he mouting adaptor and it fits into a 40mm LNB clamp on a normal dish. Would this work ok ?

No satellite stuff for the moment (aside from a 43cm minidish that was on the house already), Samsung SyncMaster T27B550 Smart TV & Monitor, and a few computers...

It would work, however it'll be a waste of dish as the feedhorn on the LNB is Oval to suit the minidish rather than a round dish...

A bit strong to call it a waste! If it's costing nowt then go ahead.

If the dish is big enough (60cm minimum really) then this will compensate for the reduced area that the LNB "sees" on the dish.

I use a $ly quad LNB on a standard dish myself so I know that it works.

I did think that the LNB may be optomised for an oval dish but i may use it on my 60cm when i get it installed as id like to watch 19.2 in more than the one room.
