I wonder if any one knows if there are any UK dealers that stock a KU-Band Multiband LNB some thing like a SMW with a WR-75 Flange

Why would you need such an odd frequency band ?

OpenBox X5 on a 1 meter motorized dish.
And now a 10 foot "C" band dish.

And a high priced one at that, some I've seen on flebay run over $800, some suppliers have them for over 2K.

Thanks Guys for the feed back yes its very hard to find any thing like this these days I have contacted SMW in SWEDEN but looks like they only deal with trade .The Ku-Band Quad Multiband LNB on the dish at the moment is still working but its over 30 years old and should be replaced same goes for the Chaparral Corotor but again there are no dealers left in the UK .
Do both of you have motorised systems if you move your dish to Sirius2_3 or as its called now Astra 4A what is in the clear over there ? Plus will my old EchoStar AD-3000IP still work since most from what I can see is MPEG-4 and my old EchoStar AD-3000IP is MPEG-2 From what I can see my old receiver needs replacing .Thanks again for your info .

Well I do have a motorized system, but that satellite is well below my horizon, and if your current receiver is only MPEG2 then it's time to step up to one that can do MPEG4.(ask the members here for one to fit your needs)

And if an LNB is still working them why replace it, even if it's 30 years old, the same with the corotor, but if that is in need of replacement then look here for a new one.

Your profile mentions a 3600, though I have had experience with the 3000IP (there are two in the garage) .

Very useful for moving the dish, but since they will only have SD output, you will not get many channels from the satellite, and this will diminish as time goes on. depending on the dish size you are limited to the free Norwegian and some Ukranian channels on the European beam

You haven't said why you need such an expensive and specific LNB for your system, even f you have a prime focus dish there are some dual band LNBs out there with the 9.75/10.75 LOs.

Thanks for the feed back guys well the maintenance work is coming on fine I have bought a second hand replacement receiver Technomate TM-5402 and while I am doing work on the dish I have ordered some replacement feed arms from Rimants . As far as the Sat Look replacement battery should arrive soon so its slowly coming together .As far as the Ku-Band Quad Multiband LNB I did find a second hand SMW Ku-Band Quad Multiband LNB (switchable) Q-PLL Type G Size 23 but after checking with SMW its over 9 years old and the guy wanted £250 so looks like I will have to stick with my current one .

If I checked the correct LNB model, the type you are looking for covers the frequency ranges of 10.95-11.70 GHz and 12.25-12.75 GHz?

It has no coverage of 10.70-10.95 GHz and 11.70-12.25 GHz so is blind for just under 40% of the full Ku-Band range of 10.70-12.75 GHz. Was there any particular reason why you wished to replace your existing LNB with an identical model rather than swap it over for an LNB that can provide greater scope for Ku-Band?

I was assuming the OP was looking for an SMW LNB identical to the one referred to in this topic title? Also, in his reply No. 8 of this topic he indicates that he has been looking for an SMW model and found a 9 year old unit for £250.

Perhaps the OP could clarify?

Hi Guys well things are arriving the Technomate TM-5402 arrived today so might have a play with that .Rimants has made the replacement support arms so they should arrive in the next few weeks . The replacement Sat Look battery should I be here in the next day or so its all coming together .

Back to the Ku-Band Quad Multiband (switchable) LNB well I have been searching the internet and the only one I can find is the SMW one . SMW have 3 in stock but they wont sell me direct . Yes I did find a second hand SMW but when I checked out the ser number it was found to be 9 years old and it was for sale at £250 . they were selling new SMW Ku-Band Quad Multiband LNB (switchable) Q-PLL Type G Size 23 for £150 on Ebay but there now sold out . So what other Ku-Band Quad Multiband LNBs are available not forgetting its got to have a WD-75 flange to bolt onto the Corotor . Its funny you can go into any sat shop in the middle east or asia and all this is standard kit . If you look at all the old catalogues but these days its very hard to find any dealers that stock the stuff .

I think the lock down is going to be with us for a few more months . Thinking more about running both receivers I think my Samsung TV does have split screen so I could run both receivers into the 3 HDMI available sockets on the TV other wise its going to be a pain . I never got any reply from that Ebay seller who was selling the RC 1500 single axis dish controller . So I think we have a few more months of lock down to do as for cleaning up the surface on the dish I think I will remove the old support arms than rub down , Mask up and re spray .

I have this SMW PLL model for sale if you are interested, PM me for details.

I never received a reply of the RC1500 seller a few months back either, so I didn't bother. If people cannot be bothered to respond, I don't deal with them.P1010028.JPGP1010029.JPGP1010030.JPG

Don't forget to load up the TM5402 with William1's latest TM5402 Channel list because, chances are, whatever is already on the RX is out-of-date - you'll need a 8GB+ USB drive and follow the instructions which (IIRC) William 1 has published somewhere, but are quite straightforward to follow.

Thanks guys for the info , Scopus I have PM you regarding your LNB understood you had the same problem with the RC1500 seller well I will just stick with the plan to use the Echostar for Jack + skew and hope I can do screen or screen with 2 x HDMI sockets other wise it means a re think one think is for sure the old Echostar ad-3000ip viaccess is not going to be much good only since not much use MPEG-2 these days but I understand the TM5402 does both MPEG-2 + MPEG-4 it arrived this morning but not had it out of its box yet . Thanks Jeallen01 ok on this list of channels on Williams List , doesn't the TM5402 have a search function ? I think the receiver must be the first sat reciever I have bought that dont have a jack or skew control . So I wonder if this list is some thing you must down load or is there a search function not forgetting its also going to conect switch to switch from KU / C band . So please tell me more .

This thread might be of use

I'm sure i still have at least two wuad bands in the MTI style canister you have. One I know is white (Uniden/MTI) the other is anthracite (Eurosat/Manhattan). Both would have silver or gold sticker with the German conformity figure in black. Will check this weekend.

Is there a sticker left on your LNB that has anything legible left of the origin , perhaps the original sale receipt / guarantee since you already supplied a Micro-X catalogue ?

Re the 5402 M3: yes, it does have pretty good blindsearch - but, as William1 and others, will confirm, that can bring up a lot of potentially "spurious" channels and so you'd spend a lot of time whittling those down to the "real" FTA ones that you will want for starters because the available search parameters are somewhat limited.

Thus, do download and install William1's list to begin with.

Wow thats one hell of a load of LNBs there CH My old Ku-Band Quad Multiband (switchable) LNB did not come from Micro- X that when I bought the first Ku system which was the 1.8 IRTE dish and polar mount . There are no marking on my Ku Lnb it is still working but its like the corotor very corroded since its been installed for 30 years so if I can find a replacement while every thing is in bits I might as well replacement as I dont fancy getting up and down the step ladder every other day playing around with the LNB . Plans are remove the support arms replace with Rimants stainless steel ones before I fit clean and give the dish a respray then set it all up again . I have a feeling I I might have to install a extra cable to us Scopus LNB but I may be wrong as never used a twin feed before .

Knowing when you got the 1.8m would nail down the design and internal L.O. then

I guess it is already good for all bands , and less likely to give trouble on a medium sized dish than newer pretenders, so why change it ?

Just trying to put a time line on the age of my Ku LNB as this install was done in 1991 but it all started about 1990 due to all the problems I had with Dish and polar mount . However one thing we do know is its very old and very bady corroded but might be able to clean up and respray all the exposed parts and from talking to Scopus regarding his LNB he thinks I should be able to use his as long as I use a 22Khz switcher so that should be a goer .

I think next I will unpack this William1's latest list for TM5402 and see what is required to down load the channel list I can only assume you down load a file to your USB stick then plug the stick into the sat receiver but we have 10 more weeks of lock down so lots of time .
