Good afternoon
Has anyone got one of the above soldering stations (as shown on the CPC Website) because I've just bought a Maplins Clearance Sale unit that looks virtually identical (except for the colour) - but I need to get some other soldering iron bits for it and they are/will be in short supply, and I think the Duratool bits may well fit?
Having measured the bit that came with the Maplins unit, the shape and length (65mm) are the same as the Duratool ones, and the o/d of the long straight shanks is 7mm and the i/d is 6mm.
However, whilst I can see the linked spec sheet for the Duratool bits on the CPC website, it lacks two critical dimensions - the o/d and i/d .
So, is anyone in a position to check those dimensions on the Duratool bits that they have?
Thanks in advance.
John
PS1: I think there are some very similar 48W soldering stations with other brand names that have almost certainly come out of the same factory - so any info on the bits for those, and on any similar-looking Silverline bits, could be very helpful
PS2: there are also some 40W stations but I am now pretty sure that they use different sized bits to most of the 48W ones.
