Thanks for all the "heads-up" on these possible purchases.
So far there is one in Yorkshire and one in the Netherlands. Its never in my neck of the woods! I had to go to S Wales to collect the dish but I was already in Bristol so not far to go on to Cardiff. Its not very old as well. very clean and tidy.
The one in Yorkshire has brackets welded on the vertical shaft for the actuator so I would have to use the stand as well. It would need to be modified and shot-blasted before powder-coating it.
I've no idea what the one in the Netherlands looks like as it was really only a mention on the thread but I've asked the question of availability.

Channel Hopper. I have looked at the one that Trevor has mentioned. Its in Bournemouth and looks quite well looked after. If I'm not careful though, I may end up with a lot of equipment that's surplus, and I have a lot of that already! Steve

Unless you get a Jaeger 1224 or a polar mount with actuator and get it installed on a ground stand or wall bracket your 1.2m channel master dish is surplus equipment.

See that little crowtail circuitboard for € 4,45.
Yes, I might be able to take this from an old computer mouse.
Where did you get that Circuitboard?

Judging on recent sale prices for a Jaeger 1224 motor, the eBay listing that includes the 1.2m CM, gound stand, Jaeger 1224, vbox and Inverto LNB is worth £160 for the Jaeger on its own. Considering all of the equipment included that listing is a bargain.
It's a bargain and will be well looked after as you can see who the seller is and that 1224 came from Channel Hopper iirc.

I agree .... Quality all the way and in full working order ....
I upgraded my 1.2 Channel master from polar mount to Jaeger 1224 .. very happy with the result. :)

I can see the point that the CM setup on ebay is a bargain but it is a long way from where I am in Kent. I'm wondering what it would cost to ship it from there to here rather than drive there and back to collect it.
Also, the point about the dish I have would be surplus without the mount? Of course, I am looking for the kit to make it "not surplus"! I've already jumped in and bought the dish only to see another dish, days after I've collected it. A bit of an unforeseen mistake on my part.
Maybe I'd be better off buying the ebay setup and selling the CM I have here. Its only 18 months old and is in very good condition.

Just an update on the parts gathering.
I decided, in the end to buy the dish setup in Bournemouth. A CM 1.2, Jaeger 1224 on a stand. It hasn't got here yet but I'm looking forward to it getting here. There is a Technomate receiver included in the price.
I did first go for the polar mount/stand in Luton and the guy agreed to my offer but wouldn't do the deal as I can't collect it until this coming weekend. On those terms its possible he may still have it in couple of months time! Shame, as it looked like a very substantial bit of kit.
So, I have a spare CM 1.2 that's in very good condition. I don't know what model receiver the technomate is but I'll report back when I know.

Congratulations, that is a nice setup, I hope it is up to your expectations.
Dont sell the other CM 1.2m, look for another Jaeger 1224 and stand, install a pair, one for Ku band and one for C band or Ka band

Moonbase. Its a bit early for me as I've still got a lot to learn on this subject. There is a TM box coming with the dish setup but I've no idea what model it will be. I've been reading different threads on here on the subject of receivers and there's a lot out there. Some rated better than others and as soon as I unravel the jargon on usage etc I'll make a decision! Some of these boxes are a few years old now and second hand examples are hard to find. I'll be asking some daft questions for a while yet!

Another thing. It would seem that "what's out there" is on the decline, what with new satellites and technology to prevent us from finding anything worth watching. As I'm in the early stage of this pastime it will be nice to see some programs that I otherwise wouldn't see before becoming an enthusiastic partaker of the "sport" so to speak. Steve

Rubbish. Just trade in your current system for something larger/more diverse.

Oh right. Can’t see me with a 2.4 dish in the back garden! This is my first system and still learning.
