I can get these dishes cheap i have used these for vsat loads of times and also a few transmitter sites use both the 1.8m and 2.4m versions they are good dishes the only down side if you are in to multisat there is no polar mount option.

That is easy to fix as you can make a frame and bolt a EGIS motor to it.

I have some pictures somewhere of this setup, will try find it.

Here are the pictures with EGIS motor and 120cm Andrew and 180cm Andrew to the right.

The motor will handle the weight of the 240cm as well but i haven't found a picture yet.

The company also sells pre-made metal frames for these dishes or you can make one easy yourself asking some welder doing the frame.

It does say on the jaeger site that the 1224 is suitable fo a 1.8m dish. The channel master 1.8 is a heavy bitch. I would not mount it.

The 1224 could probably handle a precision 1.8m dish ok.

EGIS motor is ok if you have a big wallet!

No i have never installed a Andrews 2.4m.

No you can not use the 1224 motor with a 1.8m or 2.4m Andrews, the casting would crack.

However a German firm is selling modified 1224 motors where the casing doesn't crack.
