Like the way weather is measured here on earth, they're measuring the sun's weather so they can in the future try and form predictions to find out if we're going to be in trouble or not, so, who it'll benefit, well, everyone on this planet that uses an electrical device that could be knocked out by a flare... :)

There's potentially an untapped market in foil underpants

My Satellite Setup
OpenBox X5 on a 1 meter motorized dish.
And now a 10 foot "C" band dish.

Custom built PC
My Location
Deep in the Boonies in the central Sierra Nevada mountains of California.
I watch this site,

Code:
http://www.swpc.noaa.gov/products/goes-proton-flux

If the green line gets above the dotted line I get the lead lined suit on. (I would have used the red line but that's the government for you)

If it goes above the dotted line for a long time we could loose some satellites, if it goes above the next two lines above the dotted line we could loose ground based electronic equipment, if it goes off the top we are back in the stone age, I have my suit ready do you?

I prefer foil protection over lead, the wife doesn't understand.

Foil wont work as the sub atomic particles penetrate it like a 44 magnum 265 grain hollow point into a stick of butter, it has to be 2 mm thick lead, 4 mm around the groin area, and more or less around the head, some politicians can go without the lead around the head, as nothing will penetrate there.
