Hi
Iam from India .I installed a 6 ft antenna for 83 deg east which is my country satellite whose eirp is 42 db at my place. The strange problem is i cannot lock the channels .Even from other satellite also i cannot lock it.
I can lock the ku band channels with a ku band lnb.
i crosschecked the Receiver at my friends place who lives in neighborhood its working fine.
I cant doubt on cables as ku is working fine.

My doubt is on Lnb its universal c band lnb 13k with gain of 65 db
Somebody told me that 13k lnbs are not suitable for the reception.

Is it true please guide me

Regards

Best way is to get your C Band LNB tested by replacing working LNB with yours at the some friend's C Band setup. Or members is there any other way to test it with Multimeter please help.

Hi friend ...
I don't wish to presume you haven't set up for c band before ...but just making sure you have tried the obvious ..
You are using an IF frequency of 5150 during setup ?

...Hello again ..
I've just checked Lyngsat regarding C band reception on 83 degrees East..
All transponders are Horizontal or Vertically polarized ...so NO circular polarisation ..
So ..a standard H/V switching LNB such as the Pauxis will do the hob just fine ..
It does however ...not require the use of a dielectric plate in place ...so if one is fitted in the lnb throat (waveguide) ..it should be removed before scanning for channels..
What sort of lnb are you using ?
If a plate _is_ fitted it will reduce any signal received to unusable levels.

A description of your feed / lnb(f) and any other hardware fitted at the dishes focus would help ..
