Stream may return for pirate viewers!

Stream, the Italian pay-TV package broadcasting from Hotbird, may soon be available to pirate viewers again according to some reports, despite a switch to Irdeto 2. Several sources suggest that Stream is using a modified version of Irdeto 1 similar to the modified Viaccess 1 TPScrypt currently in use by the French broadcaster and widely pirated. Some suggestions state that it will only be a matter of time before a hack is found for this modified Irdeto 1 format. Despite its output being dubbed with no English audio soundtrack, Stream had remained a popular choice for non-Italian pirates due to its excellent line-up of late night mature content.

Is'nt this to be renamed Italia Sky and use Videoguard encryption forcing all Stream and Telipu subscribers to change receivers?
This makes the card obsolite and hacking pointless.

You are quite right about Stream becoming part of Sky Italia.
Whether they will be using only one encryption is open to debate. The vast majority of Telepiu (D+) subscribers are using Seca goldboxes and I can't see how they can be forced to change to Videoguard. Stream have many subscribers using Irdeto and for them the same applies.
We shall have to wait and see.
