The problem is manufacturers are producing receivers with no user manuals to guide customers.
Octagon have some online videos but all in German. It should be a requirement that manufacturers who wish to sell receivers in various countries should supply those receivers with user manuals in the language of that country. Some manufacturers produce a manual with a section in various languages.
Yes customers will still have problems but at least they will have a basic manual to start from.
When I asked for help on the Octagon support forum I described my problem yet Octagon support were sending me in a totally different direction like I was the first customer who had made this mistake.
There are lots of features in the SX88+ but I have no idea how to go about using them. Yes I can ask on here in the hope that someone knows how to do things but I shouldn't have to do this.
There should be a basic set of instructions explaining what each feature of the receiver does & how to go about using them.

Somewhere in England (possibly?)!
@Tony Daly

IIRC, my SX88 & SX88+ arrived with short dual-language English & German guides - I may still have them but I'm not sure if they will be of much use once one has become basically familiar with the receiver(s)?

So did you get one of those - or has Octagon stopped supplying them?

They might say they are saving the planet by not including an extra half kilo of paper with every receiver. Of course it's all about profit margins.

IIRC, I think it was about 50gms of paper with each receiver :).

I got them, so small I had to get a magnifier to read them & totally useless.
A decent user manual doesn't have to come with the receiver.
It could be online like a lot of companies do these days.

A proper manual, detailed enough for a complete novice without internet, would weigh much more. I look on my shelf and see the vast tomes that used to come with computer software in the 90s o_O

These days everyone has internet so it would be much easier to have a comprehensive manual online in Support under downloads.
