Hi,

I'm looking at getting my first DVB-S2 card and trying to decide whether to get a TBS6925 (for the extra modulation schemes + features) or a more basic but dual tuner card like the TBS6992.

I've been out of the loop for a few years. My current setup is only DVB-S. I'm interested in sat feeds and also the tech itself so am leaning towards the 6925.

How many transmissions are using modulation schemes these days that would justify getting the 6925?

Linux support is important and the TBS cards score here. Had a quick look at the Tevii cards, but there's less info about them: http://www.tevii.com/Products_S480_1.asp

Are there any cards similar to the 6925 that are worth considering?

Thanks!

Heh

I'm still sitting here trying to justify a 6925 to myself :D

...a decision made slightly easier as the alternative I was looking at at (TBS6992) doesn't seem available anywhere.
