A guy on another site, stated that it took him 6 hours to scan for channels on one sateillte, that can't be right, the receivers probably just hung there,
whats the 'Power Scan' like in peoples humble opinion's?, I know it hasn't got a visually impressive 'power Scan' like the Fortec Star.

If it is a blind scan, then it will take that sort of time.

I've read Whizz's Review and it's because they use a Sharp chip, which is faster when you do normal and network scan's, but slow when you do a blind scan,

I suppose you can't have all your 'chips' in one basket

Good choice. Make sure you get your first flash right (if that's what you intend to do). Read everything, and make sure you use the correct file and loader.

Yes, there is a whole section dedicated to Technomate, and Darkman has posted stickies for both the latest patch, and a generic 1xxx series loader app.

Lancelot,

If I'm thinking what your thinking, your thinking is exactly what I'm thinking, then it must be right! It's that old chestnut of it being new, perfect against the unknowns, I know what should happen and what I would like to happen, but will it happen? Got to go for it!!!

Cheers Lancelot and Rossy,

C'mon, without doing it, it's just a doorstop.

Take your time, read everything, and you will be fine.

Burn baby burn!

For reflashing the STB itself you just need a null modem cable and a stiff drink.

CAM programming is something else.

If you buy a CAM, you will need to reprogram it at some point, along with any programmable cards you may have.

It should NEVER take 6 hours to do a blind scan with the TM 1500+ Super. The boast is it only takes 9 mins and change to blind scan Hotbird.
Patch it man :-doh! what are you waiting for?
Get loader 1.87, Patch 2.28 & then the Softcam for TM by "FEARONA" all from alsat
Read the idiots guide to patching, etc (all in the Technomate section) & don't complain about on the alsat website, it's like a demi-god to those guys and they won't hear a bad word about it:-rofl2
Enjoy it, the picture is great, sound also & when you've patched it a few times, it's one of the easiest to do:)
