I bought 5402 M3 . Is it normal in this receiver that input for electric cord at the rear of the receiver is moving about 1 to 2 mm up , down , left or right when you plug electric cord in receiver ?The receiver is sealed so I cannot look inside. The plastic input for electric cord is not fixed stable but it can be moved 1 to 2 mm . Can you checked if it is the same in your 5402 M3 ? I need to know if all 5402 M3 have this plastic input at rear moving or just mine ?

Somewhere in England (possibly?)!
I have not noticed the same thing with the 5402 M3 I bought recently - sounds like either the mains inlet aperture in the chassis was not punched correctly (but that is unlikely, given modern production tools and methods) or the wrong main-inlet module has been used, and that would seem more likely as many slightly different such components are available to box manufacturers.

In either case, this is a potential safety hazard as the inlet module could eventually work loose and expose the live terminals on the inside. This is especially dangerous as the 5402 is a Class II Double Insulated product and so there is no safety earth connection to the chassis or earth conductor in the mains cable.

Personally, I would do two things:
- Immediately contact the supplier with details of the problem and request a replacement (which will hopefully not be the same!).
- Also contact the UK Trading Standards (via the Citizens Advice Bureau which handles all the initial contacts on behalf of the TS) because this problem could affect many more receivers across both the UK and Europe - and TS can initiate an investigation with your supplier and the importer which brought the receiver into the UK. That, in turn may result in a product safety alert or recall - the size of which would depend on the number of receivers which are found likely to be affected

PS: take photos of your receiver, including the serial number, before sending it for replacement, and give those to TS when they contact you, because those photos will enable them to more clearly trace other faulty units.

Nothing to worry about , here the same .
That's a separate connector , not attached directly to the circuitboard but connected with isolated wires .
They can move freely without to touch anything .
Clearly to see looking through the cooling slots just above it .

So there are units with the problem and without the problem.

I am from Poland so I have limited contact with technomate producer.

I agree with @Trust1 that it is not attached directly to the circuitboard but there are isoleted wires connected from the plastic inlet to the circuitboard. It is connection like using extention cord. I can stick it to the rear panel so that it cannot move freely.

Any other users have the same problem ?

I have to disagree that's it's not a problem because, while it may not be one right now, it could well be one in the future - and not just for people posting here, and that's me speaking as a safety regs and standards professional (40+ years in the business), and I think others in that field will agree with me.

No customer should have to accept a new product with an obvious defect like this, and it also hints of possible poor manufacturing and safety in other and less visible areas.

Thus I totally stand by my initial comments above (and I will now be checking my unit again very carefully as it is currently in the garage at the other end of the garden for setting up my dishes, and I did not actually check before those comments this morning)

If that is the case then I will do what I said in my first post and also talk directly to Technomate UK tomorrow!
