If you expect to find your own feeds then you will have to blind scan a whole set of TP ranges on about 10 different satellites, if you restrict yourself to the busiest ones for feeds. That will take up loads of your time, remembering that you will have to repeat the process over and over to find new feeds which crop up all the time. And this will tie up whatever screen you are using. I think that your new found interest in blind scanning might wane after a while.

If you think that regular TV channels are crap, you will hardly be amused by hours of watching people setting up microphones and listening to one side of studio to OB exchanges.
I find the latter more interesting.
and I said "satellite" tv was crap, meaning all the shitty religious and shopping channels.

That's good :D 1 dish leads to 2 dishes and so on.........

Once you get above a 1.25, the costs can really rack up quickly.

As you need to start to buy heavy duty stuff, like the actuator or actuators if you have elevation control. Not to many choices for polar mounts, but you can overcome this.

Just if you do go for another technomate box, leave the "enigma 2" flavours alone. Imho.

I have one how they can sell these is beyond me there must be a better way to build a Linux receiver.
The TM1500Ci Super + was one of the best SD TM's ever made but not able to repeat this with HD Linux for some reason.

I got caught on a TM800-HD enigma2. it was a heap of cr@p. The only good point was it had a sensitive tuner.

When I did go enigma 2 I bought the vu duo, I had a dm7000 for many years. (I still have it, it's inder the bed) but that was enigma 1.

talking about tuner sensitivity, i would say my humax hrd has a better tuner than the tm5502, which surprised me..

No, no dedicated Section.

I did think of starting a "What's your Callsign" Thread, but there might be Privacy Issues as the RSGB, whether you're a Member or not, take it upon themselves to publish details in their Callbook without assent ie You have to opt-out positively.

Not sure what happens in other Countries where we might also have Members who are Licensed or are SWLs.

Easy matter, then, to associate Forum User Names with real name/address.

I shall ponder on it.
