I have just been trying to blind scan Amos (4W) satellite and the Techno seems to be stuck in a repetitive loop. It will search up to about 74% of the scan then suddenly will drop back to around 53% and continue up again to about 74% then drop back again to 53%, accumulating hundreds of duplicate channels.

I can't 'exit' from the scan and only way out is the switch off at the back. Of course when I reboot, the serach results are now gone.

Retrying again gives the same results.

Anyone else had this problem?

Other sats have scanned OK until this one.

Just out of curiosity how many sats, channels and transponders have you scanned so far?, perhaps you have reached the stb's limit...........

I did wonder that myself, but after Amos failed I did about three more and they all went through OK. 0-100% without fail.

I must admit though after then I tried another and after a few minutes it came up with 'insuffient memory for TP' and exited the scan.

I have done blind scans successfully on about 16 sats but really would like to do another six more. Surprised it ran out of memory for TPs'. I only scan TV, never radio channels too. Total channels is about 7,000 so far.

Puzzling.

Cheers.

Barry.

Ps. I have also tried deleting transponders manually using the 'blue' button when showing but it just ignores the button press and nothing happens.

I still thing the most likely problem was that you had exceeded the total no. of channels allowed - and that Technomate should put in a warning of when you are nearing this figure!:)

As with the other Technmate blind scan receiver's 999 would seem to be the maximum number of transponder's that the receiver can store when you reach this maximum the blind scan will stop working,
999 maximum was for the TM1000 series with a maximum of 5000 tv channels so use this as a guide line as the TM5000 & TM6000 series can hold a maximum of 10,000 tv channels so the maximum number of transponder's may be greater,
Just delete all dead transponder's on satellites in your arc & all transponder's from the satellites you do not use this will free up your memory for future blind scans.

I've just seen this so sorry. The TM6800 doesn't have a 'blind search' facility so perhaps you can clarify the term. The 6900 Super does have a blind search but not the original 6900.
