"White UK Sly cards may not c/s in the near future"

Would anyone care to comment on this? I am in the process of getting rid of Sly HD and multiroom to be replaced by a C/S server and clients. However, I think I will hold off based on some articles I have been reading.

Does anyone have an opinions on this? Will, do we think, Sly switch on some anit-C/S measure in the near future?

hi guys,

i've done a search here and havent found a real answer yet...

anyway, my entitlements are due to expire on 27/12 and for the past 3 days i've put it back in the original sly box overnight to update (i will get around at some stage to use the mgcamd method). i leave it on sly sports 1 hd and it still hasnt updated?

so what channel is best for updating of entitlements?

i use a dm800 with newcs/cccam & omnikey 3121 with full HD white card sub and it's being put back into the samsung sly HD box

@PacketMaster - No one knows what is around the corner.
Speculating is just crazy in this industry if you listen to all of the rumours then NDS and Nagra3 are both open. Dealing with what we have now and ignoring rumours is the best option.

My plan is to switch to the 800 in the next 24hrs and then to buy a Omnikey in the next day or so.

the DM does not ask for a pin at default, you can just change channel

yes, but i dont use that to read directly as i use an omnikey reader.

fintannl, not allowed. Download it from your images addons panel. Available in Gemini & Nabilo.

moelikepie, leave the box on Sly1. It may take upto 48 hours to hit the card.

Get MGCamd setup and forget about it for now.
Having said that, I've not tried NewCS 1.67 & CCcam 2.1.3 to see if that will update also, I don't see why not if setup correctly.

fee one payes to someone to keep a softwhere updated on line or something like that??

can i download the softwere just once and it will be good all the time with the new white cards.

Why dont you use CCcam 2.1.3 to read your card in the internal reader of your DM800? That way you can continue to use your DM800 while waiting for an entitlements update.

can i download the softwere just once and it will be good all the time with the new white cards.

I'm afraid not. No doubt there will be regular updates, especially if Sky start messing around with their encryption system.

PS: Off topic:
The person you mention is very foolish if they are paying to have CCcam updates. I suspect this is not what they are paying for though.

I have a DM800 with Nabilosat v0.12 & CCcam 2.13. The DM800 can not read the white SkyUK card. With the Skybox, everything works fine.
My CCcam.cfg:
-------
SERIAL READER: /dev/sci0
BOXKEY: /dev/sci0 xx xx xx xx (My Skybox SN converted to Hex?)
SMARTCARD CLOCK FREQUENCY: /dev/sci0 3680000
-------

- I have tried this with a DM500.. the same problem.
- I have tried without the "SMARTCARD CLOCK FREQUENCY" line. Also the same.

Can anyone help me?

In my setup I dont have the SERIAL READER or SMARTCARD CLOCK FREQUENCY line in my cfg. Maybe thats your problem?
Just put the card in the internal slot of your Dreambox and you should clear your channels.

EDIT:- I just noticed in your system details you state "Ubuntu". If your using a server you will need to setup the correct C/F or N line depending on your setup

have you tried starting CCcam via telnet to see what is happening?

/usr/bin/CCcam_2.1.3 -dv

also which way up are you putting the card into the DM?

Still no card visible.

I restarted CCcam from the blue panel.
CCcam.cfg only needs the boxkey.

glad to hear it but remove the camlogs from your previous post as they are not allowed and you might get a rap on the knuckles!!

as long as he has the correct boxkey then there is no reason that those channels wouldn't be clearing
