This is written as a basic guide, after all, if your interested in this, then to a certain extent, you know what you're doing
Lets Start!
1 Edit newcs.xml to unblock EMMs
Assumming NewCS is already setup for sharing of your white card.
Within the <device> tag, edit parameters to reflect this (ga must be blocked still!!!):
Code:
<blocksa>no</blocksa>
<blockua>no</blockua>
<blockga>yes</blockga>
Also note down the port number of NewCS,
For the purpose of this tutorial...
IP of server (where newcs is installed): 192.168.1.50
Port of NewCS: 10001
2 Make a new newcamd account in NewCS web interface
Go to the NewCS Web Management and make a new account, as follows:
Username: MgcamdEMM
Password: WeWantEMM
Make sure AU is checked for the above (new MgcamdEMM) account.
Very important: Every other account must not have AU rights (AU is unchecked).
3 Install Mgcamd onto your DM500S.
Assumming your DM500S all flashed and setup to work with CCCam. (I use Pli Jade)
Go into the blue menu, then software management, then downloads, then Softcams / Cardservers. then install Mgcamd 1.31.
Repeat and install Mgcamd 1.31 config.
Then go into the blue menu again, then Softcam setup then make Mgcamd your default Softcam.
Restart your Dreambox.
4 FTP to your DM500S
Note: Mgcamd has multiple config files stored in var/keys, unlike cccam which only has cccam.cfg
Connect to your DM500S with your FTP program (i use DCC, so i can telnet to reboot too)
Browse to var/keys
edit mg_cfg,
Look for the current parameters and edit the ones to reflect as follows (leave every thing else as default):
Code:
A: { 01 }
G: { 03 }
Save mg_cfg
In same folder, edit newcamd.list
Paste on top of the file (this is your 'n-line' that works for Mgcamd):
Code:
CWS = 192.168.1.50 10001 MgcamdEMM WeWantEMM 01 02 03 04 05 06 07 08 09 10 11 12 13 14 lan cardserver
Save newcamd.list
Restart your Dreambox.
Your done!
To test Mgcamd, go to a scrambled channel see if it clears. If it does clear, leave it on that channel and note if the entitlements update, be patient. If you get EMM flooding, check if you still hace GA blocked!!!
Side note, i see that you can actually have different default CAMs for different channels (see blue menu, then Softcam Setup).
So it might be possible to have Mgcamd working for one specific channel, and set a ZAP timer to switch to this channel over night to update entitlements (say once a week). That way CCcam is still used for all other channels except that specific channel. I have not tried this (and probally will not tbh!) but what i was thinking is set CCCam as your default CAM, then switch to a channel that you hardly ever watch (there is so many). go into the blue menu again and for that channel set to Mgcamd. Good luck with this.
