Try changing channel a few times. Its not unknown for transponders to be sending the wrong time - one of the 28E frequencies is definitely a couple of hours out :D

It picks the time up off the satellites. If a transponder is sending the wrong time you receiver will pick up the wrong time!

mmmmmm O-no

The problem came back.. :-slaphead at least I know how to fix it for a "while"..
no matter what channel I am on.. the clock info stays wrong.
to fix it I change the timezone to another and back to my zone and then save. this fixes the time! For few hours and then it is either back or ahead om my time.

Heelp please :confused.

Just to make sure: You have had the same problem with two different Images?
Also, seeing that you are in Oman, what satellite are you pointing at?

The problem is with other images too.

I have three sats.

Hotbird 13E , Nilesat 7W and Arabsat 26E.
If some staion is sending the wrong time, is there a way around it?

I am not sure. Try to reset the time so it is correct, and then leave it pointed to a station on Hotbird 13. How long does it usially take until the time goes wrong? Try to determine if it is the satellite. Hotbir is for sure wih the correct time if you choose a station like TPS.

If it is a specific station that is causing the problem you could try to disable the autoupdate feature of this station.

First, I would like to thank you for your help.;)

I did not find a pattern for the clock to go wrong. I could be watching anything and it will be fine for hours. and then .. it is off.

try to disable the autoupdate feature

hmm.. I don't know if this is available on the 7025. :confused

Is no one else seeing this problem? could this be a hardware issue?
I searched the net for this topic but found no one else reporting it.

Did you try leaving it on Hotbird to see if it is a certain satellite or not??

Also, you can sort out the Autoupdate of a channel using the dreamboxedit program _(have a look in the Idiot Guide for information about this program).

But first of all find out if it is the Sat or the box to begin with. I am pretty sure it is a software problem.

What happens when you go to time correction setup, what does it say on receiver time and transponder time?

I know it probably doesn't help you, but I have no problem with the clock on my 7025. It spends most of its time tuned to stations on Astra 2 (28,2º)

I reset the clock, tuned to TPS (Multivision 2), left the box in stand by (off) . 12 hours later the clock is showing the...... RIGHT time.

I have this program. I will check out the features available.

Are you talking about Timezone setup? there is not much there except .. selecting a time zone. I don't have that in my software.

Try it maybe on the other satellite. If there is one specific station /provider you use a lot it may be worth checking.

Dreamboxedit
If you find that it is a station related problem, you can disable the autoupdate feature if you open the station's menu. fairly easy to see.

In the Gemini image there is a Time setting menu. I am not near the box now, so can't have a look but it is easy to find. There you will see the transponder time and the box time, and also a correction. Might be in the OSD settings or so. :)

Pleeeeeeeze go near your box and write the path to that setting. I couldn't find it in mine.

What software are you running on you box?

Gemini 2.4.

I think the root of your problem is that your box isn't getting updates from the channels it's using. That's why I said mine was on Astra 2, where all the channels give the correct time.
