Ok ..
modded a second BBC to allow either the SL3 on carl or the SL3 on the Orbital to be selected through the 16 port diseqc switch..
Probably not the best time of day to try this ..
Newsnet signals ARE low but ..
Using Carls SL3 plate modded for V
I get 4 peaks ...only 1 of which will lock on blindscan ..the data channel
The same 4 peaks in evidence on the Orbital with the Hard port modded SL3-03 at focus ..
3 signals now lock on blindscan ..
which includes the data channel.
These scans were moments apart ..and signal levels ARE comparable though slightly lower on Carl..but lock is much more likely on the Orbital as you can see..

As an afterthought ..
you'll notice the Nag feed is not present even as a small hump in the trace on the Linear modded scan ...but is there on the plate modded scan ..
So ..
It is possible that not all the signal is converted by the plate ..and this means a reduced signal in V ...and possibly this is is a reason for the better reception on the V modded SL3-03

The SUP-2400 pair I ordered are now lost to the world. All the way from NA, then disappeared into thin air from the back of some idiot's van in Cambridge. Where do they find these people?

Requested 13-10 to do a search at the courier's depot. Result, 'Unable to locate item, now classed as missing. Contact original seller'.

I don't think they'll be interested, as the item was delivered to the Cambridge depot; it's not their problem.

Same company I think Yodel lost me a Hughes lnb transmitter ODU combo ..
that made it all the way from the US ..only to be lost (claimed returned to sender after non delivery)
Total Bollox ...delivery was never attempted..
Now thats a big lump to lose ..
Contacted supplier in the US ..
It never made it back there ...and I ended up out of pocket on that one.
Postal services in the UK have gone SHYTE since it was opened up to other providers.

The threshold for the Orbital setup appears to be around 7.5db for 8PSK now ...
certainly an improvement but now I just want more..

So ..
The SL3 I ordered just on face falue from the photo supplied ..
This being an SL3K4NR1-01 ..is not what I recieved.
I cannot return it ..
it is simply not economical ...and it carries no model number sticker so cant really argue my case.
It is definately not the same lnb pictured is all I can say ..and is one I haven't seen before ..but has a lot of similarities to the bubble fronted -02.
I'll post up some pics as soon as I can.
Needless to say this is not suitable to fit Trust feeds.
