A fake trailer for Lord of the Rings prequel The Hobbit has been posted onto the internet.
The fantasy two-minute clip was created by Steve Latham, 26, a film studies student, and can be seen at his website, lathamfilms.com.
He used clips from The Fellowship of the Ring and 1981 movie Dragonslayer to create the spectacular hoax.
The trailer, which has gained acclaim from fans, gives a release date of December 19, 2006.
Production on the movie - should it go ahead at all - will not be able to begin until director Peter Jackson has finished shooting a remake of King Kong.
Film studio New Line is still in negotiations with MGM to acquire the distribution rights to the book.
