I lost about 7 stone two years ago. I managed to keep the weight off for a year, and even quit drinking last June. But from about October to April this year I have put back on about 4 stone. I feel bloated, and a bit peeved because I don't drink alcohol, the stuff that made me gain weight in the first place. :D

Anyway, I am determined to shed the flabby boobs and beer gut once again. But the problem is my clothes don't fit. I bought a load last September, but they are several sizes too small. I need at least a size 38 waist. Ideally, a 40. :D

It's hot out there and T-shirts are a problem, too. My new beer gut (gained through drinking no beer!), means I have to buy upper wear that is almost dress length to go over the stomach. :D Anyways, to cut a long story short, I found a new line of polo shirts only £2 or £3 each that fit me swell.

I am dieting and will get my weight down, but in the meantime, it's nice to be well covered. And not wear heavy coats in sizzling summer, which most fatties do. I did it. And my sister in law does it. :D

I periodically have a break from drinking and find that my weight doesn't really change, in fact last time it went up slightly. :)

I'm around 14 stone now but have been over 15. I don't think a 38" waist is too bad on a well-built guy but I did go up to 40" for a while and didn't like that much.

When I buy casual tops etc. I tend to get ones with vertical stripes rather than horizontal patterns. Makes me look a bit slimmer.

Plenty of cardio, 30 mins 3 times a week.

If there is more calories going in than being used then you will put weight on. Maybe its a medical problem Saturlight?

Maybe thyroid? ;)

Good luck in the weight loss:)

Nah, ok, been to the docs. I am fine. Thanks. :) I have always had trouble with my weight. I was really lean until I was about 28, then I started putting on weight. I am about 16 stone now, and 5 feet 10. Most of the weight is on the belly. I don't have fat legs or fat arms, fat fingers etc.

It's just all on the front. If I hold it in, it gives the brief impression that I am 15 stone. :D But I can only hold my breath so long. :D :D

A good 30 minute walk every day can help keep your heart in tip top shape, I walk practically everywhere, but I seem to have a bit of a beer belly, and I rarely drink (mainly cos I can't be bothered to buy anything to drink, and most of the time I haven't the cash to either, but usually it's cos I keep getting asked for ID which again I can't afford!!!), I suppose it's cos of the junk food I like to eat.... :D

I'm just so glad to get a polo shirt that fits. The others did on the arms and back, there was just a shortfall at the front. Around 4 inches short.

I am fond of sweets :D and I like fizzy pop. And when I eat I like to be full. But I exercise daily with walks and cycling. I am not saying I have a gut for no reason. I think I should be a bit overweight, but I should NOT have a space hopper on my tummy.

I will lose it, but for some people like me, doing really hard daily work-outs is the only way to keep the weight off. Some others can just do a 15 minute walk per day. I couldn't do that. I'd need to walk for about an hour, and cycling 30 minutes. Per day. :)

Get swimming, the best form of exercise there is, completely non impact unless you forget to turn:eek: . I swim 5Km per week which helps with overall fitness, but unfortunately since I stopped smoking 3 years ago I too developed a sweet tooth and have also gained some weight and yes I do drink as well.

Hi SL..

Stop the sweets. Change to Diet pop.
It looks like your feeding the Bad Bacteria that is forming
your Beer Gut (POT).
Cut out all sugar.
Cut out all Fermented and yeast foods and Drinks, as well as Fumgi,

Eat yoghut and other foods to build up the good Bacteria in
your Beer Get.

Ever thought what your Beer Gut is made Of.
What your Beer gut is made up of is, 21 LBs of Candida albicans
(Bad Bacteria). Thrush is a sympton of Candida. So is Jock Itch
(Scraching your BALLs). As is Bloating..Gas..Athletes Foot..
..Dizziness..Fatigue.. and a lot more.

What you are, is as you say what you eat, and not knowingly what
you have done is destroyed the good Probiotic Bacteria (Lactobacillus).
Antibiotics will also wipe out the Good Bacteria (100%).

If Candida gets a hold your immune system is weakened.
If it makes its way through your Gut wall you will have More problems.
How Candida gets through your gut wall is, think of a Trees roots,
Candida sends out tentacles that penertrate the gut wall (Like Roots)
and into your bloodstream (Leaky Gut). Then it has Free range to
spread througout your Body.
Your craving for sweet foods and drink is not You needing It.
Its the candida craving it Dinner, and every day you are making
Litualy Millions more of the nasty little things.
Thats how your (Candida Gut) gets a couple of ounces bigger each week.

Just wait until he turns into a teenager :p

I have found that the worst thing for health is believing it will remain when your job situation changes.
I had a sales job for some years, once I got out of bed, it was coffee, a seat in the company car, coffee, seat in the office, coffee, and seat home again. Exercise in the evening was usually catching up on some lost calls and a lot of typing (the calories didn't fall off much).

Within a year I had grown out of my clothing and overweight.

Now, out of the rat race (for now) , I am a few pounds lighter, moving about on my own two feet, Took up fencing (epee, not panelling) on a weekly basis. At weekends I usually muck about in the garage, changing engine components on the bikes. Much happier.
