Youve done a fine job there,good stuff,bet you had fun setting the dish elevation,the clamping system on the dish is awful isnt it.

Good to see you've also taped the in/outs to the motor up high so they don't get ripped out by the bolts holding the dish ...with the motors arc motion

Interesting Tony ..
Call sign ..and usual frequency hangouts ?
I'll keep an ear half cocked assuming it's HF ..(2 mtrs)
I often use the UBC9000XLT ..and coupled to QFH weathersat antenna ..get good results ..
Also use my SDR Dongle for the same job ..



Leaving a 3 line gap for Tivu ..
He loves it when my Dongle gets a mention ..

I often wodered if I'm still a valid candidate for a call sign..
Never actually applied for one ..but passed the RAE Exams back when I was 15
..prolly forgot a lot of it ...and might need to redo the exam.
I was well into radio back then ..but it lost it's appeal somewhat when I got arrested for Piracy ..
yep thats me..
I even got a 1/4 page article in the evening news ..
I built my own gear ..and _tested_ it for a couple of years whilst at the same time doing the exam.
The Headline Read .." He couldn't keep his hands off ''

Seems a lifetime ago now as I'm 57 this year

Well ..fwiw ..I've uncovered my old CB as well ..
I prolly still have the 'twig' in the loft ..
But as usual I couldn't wait ..and got myself an imported AM CB ..
Then it all went legal after much pressure was applied to the relevant govt bodies ..and FM was chosen ..
Making mine redundant ..and it's use ..illegal ..and had to get another.
Still ..happy days.

That cb reminds me of my first, a realistic brought back from the usa in my friends suit case. i then went on to have a succession of presidents and an electric cb aerial for the car the ultimate in discretion!
