Under positioner setup I move the motor East looking for a signal. When the motor reaches the East limit in the motor it returns to 0 instead of stopping. You do not know it is doing this and therefore it can be confusing. Not a problem on when moving West. I had an email from Stab today after I told them of the fault with my Stab HH100. They state the motor is a 2009 model, despite me buying it in 2017. Initially they agreed it was a software fault and contacted Tony at Hisat. Then Stab changed their mind and claims. Quote "I am sending the motor to a satellite position which is out of my range, more then 60° which means down of your Horizon. In that case the behaviour of the motor is correct because it did not found the position so drives back to center." End Quote. No mention as to why it does not do the same on the West limit. No mention why it does the same with the DR HD 1000s meter when it has no coordinates set. Does this mean the Stab motors are of no use when doing a manual scan of the arc when using a spectrum analyser? It would seem so. I do not have the same problem with the Technomate motor, it reaches its limit and stops. Maybe Stab thought it better to go along with Hisat waffle to keep his business. Either way no more Stab for me.
