You may be scanning too low with the dish, if you have found Hotbird, then Thor is only 14 degrees further to the west and a few degrees higher.

From behind the dish it is to the right. :)

Get a piece of paper and fold a corner in half, that is 45 degrees, then fold the two sides in to overlap and that will give you 15 degrees.

if you are looking at the dish from the front then you need to move the dish to the left. But better, imagine you are looking at the sky towards the satellites. The 1 west is at the south. 13 east is on its left, and 30 west on its right. Now if you managed to get 13 east you need to move the dish a few mm of the diameter of the pole. Have a look at a simple degree ruler as one uses at school, and see how 14 degrees are. If you can, you might even place it on top of the pole to give you a good direction. And be patient, move in small steps.

hi vrlika, when I was putting my dish up finding Thor was dead easy.
My bungalow runs east to west so to find Thor (nearly dead south) the dish must be pointing straight ahead.
Then just adjust the hight and keep your eye on the sat meter.
May be I was lucky but I found it in about five minutes.

Sorry pictures not really clear enough but dish is pointing at Thor.
Getting a new toy for christmas, a digital camera. Think you will be getting some pictures shortly afterwards.:-thumbup

The LNBs are always reversed, so the most easterly LNB will look towards the west and vice versa.

So if you are stood looking at the dish from behind the LNB you are facing North and if you are facing North, then West is always to your left.

stand under the dish and look where the arm is pointing, now imagine you are the little hand of a clock pointing at 12 oclock, imagine where the little hand would be pointing if it was 12.30 (in between 12 and 1 ) that is where your aiming
