Help Required Thor 5 (0.8°W) and Hot Bird (13° E) single dish

Is it easy to adjust 13E and 5E instead of 13E and 1W?

So, you did have signal and picture of 7E?
Did you use the original LNB-holder for that, or the multifeedholder (as I suggested)?
If you used the original LNB-holder, did you compare angle and hight of original LNB-holder with that of the multifeedholder?
Can you also make a picture from the side, as I mentioned earlier?

Well, 1W is a bit more to the sidethan 5E, so the dish will give a bit less signal there; but I don't think there will be much difference.
So I would stick to the original plan, first.
Though the elevation difference between the satellites isn't big, I would use washers absolutely, to make the 3 degree angle! That will improve reception, what the shop person said is not very accurate .
Did you slide the blue (13E) LNB futher from center, and check signal with your satellite beeper? You should find satellites there, and if you have still all the channels of 13E stored in you receiver you can check if you are on the wanted satellite.
If it is not 13E, slide further; or scan this found satellite and check which one it is at KingOfSat or Lyngsat (e.g.); and determine about how much further you have to slide.

Once you found 13E, from the distance middle (7E) to 13E LNB, you can determine what the about distance for 7E to 1W must be.

Edit: O no, you have the channels of 1W stored in your receiver, I guess.
In that case I'd try to find the 1W satellite first, with the procedure I wrote above; with the grey LNB of course.

2nd Edit:
When the compass in your phone is calibrated correctly, 13E might be tricky with that tree! Hope it is not in the way.....

@a33 is spot on about there being a need for elevation, small penny washers are a good option there, just place them under the LNB bracket with the mounting screws holding them in place as long as theres a little excess screw length thats then obviously usable for this purpose.

I'd even place the washers under the multifeedholder as a total; that seems to be possible from the pictures in post #1; so not under the LNB holder.
That's the easiest way to measure the 3,3 degrees from horizontal, that is needed.

Or did you mean the same with the term 'LNB bracket'?

Here are a couple of photos of my set up. You'll see that none of the LNB's are in a straight line. In the photo of the single dish this is more apparent. That dish covers 36E - 28E - 19E.


I'm not sure that the dish in the shop has actually been set up (can't 100% say it hasn't but...), rather just mounted up and a couple of LNB's placed on the bracket in roughly the right place. Did the guy in the shop indicate what satellite the demo dish was centered on? Also bear in mind that as a rule of thumb. the larger the dish, the further apart the LNB's will be. I agree with with Ghostleader and A33, there will be a need to elevate either the outer LNB's or the bracket or possibly both....

Well spotted a33, I've made a complete balls up there, I did indeed mean LNB holder and obviously in terms of elevating that one LNB holder higher via using the washers as riser pads. Thanks again mate.

FWIW, I think it would be a lot easier to use the sort of LNB-holder shown in sonnetpete's pics than that shown in the OP's original post - have got both, and the former is much easier to adjust to the tilt angle required. OTOH, the LNB clamps in the former type can be rather fragile to open/close because they can crack just above the bar mounting (bitter experience there - put a nylon tywrap around the bottom end before you open the top-end screw clamp!)

@a33 You were correct the dish was not pointing to 7E I did receive signal from a TP but no channel after scan at last I centered the dish to 7E confirmed with some channels.

Then I mounted the LNBs and bang I receive signal from hotbird (Blue LNB without moving it I adjust the Thor LNB (Grey one) now I have them both.

I did channel scan on Hotbird received 599 FTA however i do not have signal for few TPs such as 11585 V/27500 and 11662 V/27500 which I am going to solve in the future

Glad its 90% sorted mate, I used to use that exact same multi LNB bracket, was sold as Metronic over here. Very well made, nice and strong compared to a lot of other non brand specific ones.
