With all the uncertainty about seca2 ever being hacked I am wondering if I should get rid of my Astoncrypt v1.05 and gold wafer card and replace them with a magic module and atmel/funcard? I am presuming Atmel is the same as a 5in1 funcard?

From reading the posts on here it seems the goldcard will be no good for seca2 anyway.

An MM will provide your Seca coverage anyway so yes you could sell your Aston 1.05.

Although the market for selling a 1.05 is a lot less now than it was a few months ago!.

Just to point out that an Aston 1.05 can be converted to Conax and Conax, as yet, is not available for MM.

How to covert seca cam to conax?

I have a laptop! Is it a simple programme as flashing a freecam via the lap top or do you actually have to open the cam up.

Further once converted can it ever be turned back? Using perhaps the same method, albeit a different file for seca?

It is not so simple to convert the Aston 1.05 to a conax

The Aston 1.05 is based upon the EuroII platform and requires the removal of the LQFP Flash not so easy with out very good soldering skills and then reprogrammed and then resoldered.

if you want to do this then I would suggest that you ask a specialist to to this for you.

I looked at things from the economics point, Aistys. An MM will support Seca2 but not conax. Cost to convert an Aston 1.05 to conax is about £20 whereas the cost of buying a conax cam is close to £90.

i understand you but we dont know if seca 2 will be good on MM but Aston 105 is design for seca so that cam will defenetly work with seca 2

Also worth bearing in mind for the English only speakers, there is normally better availability of English language films on Conax than was on Seca.

Does this also apply to the aston 1.03 ?
i was thinking of going for the magic module or maybe the skycard 2 but have not decided and having just read a post on the latest pentacrypt 1.11 release having time limitations on it etc i am now wondering if this is a bad sign as regards future updates for the magic module, albeit there are alternative versions coming out to compensate for this.

The time restriction has been removed on a later version I believe s*t*a*r*m*a*n, your Aston 1.03 can be converted to Nagravision.
