The 'problem' is with a 'feature' of the DVD recorder but the source is with the Sky (normal) box.

If the DVD recorder detects no signal it will pause a manual recording, or cancel a timed recording.

Sometime when the Sky box switches channels (usually free to air ones) normally with the remote or for a reminder the screen can go black with just the blue bar at the bottom for quite a few seconds. At this point the DVD recorder sees this as no signal and will cancel the current timer recording.

If this happens right at the end of a recording not a problem something I have set to record an 1hour gets recorded for 58 minutes and some seconds normally BUT if it happens at the start then the whole thing gets missed.

Anything I can do?

I am assuming you are using the scart socket to connect your Sky box to the Liteon.

In which case, have you tried feeding in the Sky signal through the aerial socket on the Liteon.

Is there a way to disable this pause recording feature in the DVD recorder menus anywhere? I doubt the Sky box can be changed to not show the blue screen when changing channels. Have you tried turning off scart control in the services menu of the digibox? However I doubt that will make any difference.

best thing seems to be to make sure the DVD recorder and the sat box have exactely the same time even if this is not the 'real' time.
