Hello everyone,
I thought this may be of benefit to somebody......
Found a very good easy prog to assist in finding satellites, its called fsf098
simple to use and can assist dish alignment if you have a sat card in computer.
This is how I set my motorised dish up in u.k. :-
1. Install above program
2. choose Thor or Intelsat707, in program and press find now!
3. Then what I do is use two cheapo walkie talkies, one I tape button
down and leave by computer speakers.
4. Take other W/talkie with you and adjust Dish to face minutely East of
South
(use compass). The Dish (offset) will also be slightly tilted back, but only
slight. Keep tweaking until you hear intermittant bleeping via W/Talkies.
This means you have found satellite, then adjust for best sig quality.
With motorised set up, as long as motor set right then you should be on
arc and be able to tune in to other sats by choosing them in program.
Hope this helps someone.
