st1 - the fact the network settings change after you power off therefore after a power cut should rule the 5402 out for you at the moment.

Thiis is the ONLY networkable receiver Ive ever had that has this issue & if any TM representatives see this thread FFS get it sorted pronto!

I would have tried getting an F15 receiver from Finland (TM5402 MK1 in disguise). Why did you go for this particular receiver, AS?

No hassle to get from one of our advertisers and all the positive feedback from the users on the forum.

Maybe Im just hyper-critical?

I think you should stop buying receivers as you give them all a bad name :p

As far as AS is concerned nothing will ever be as good as his beloved DM7020Si :D

Being from the same geographical area as AS i know how much we like to moan about the most simplest things :-lmao

Its AS,s favourite receiver, always has been.

We both had one at about the same time. The were a fantastic receiver, unfortunately things progressed leaving them behind plus they are only SD.

Directish comparison between the Duo & the 5402. Using weakish channels on 9E - the dish needs realigning again - the gales last week really didnt do the fence post mount much good.

I say directish because its not using the same cable run, but parallel ones that will be the same length to within a foot or so. The cable is similar quality & there is similar switching gear in both runs. Its running off the same lnb on the same dish

The 5402 is performing WORSE than the Duo. Not particularly favourable conditions tonight but pretty typical for up here - heavy overcast. The audio on the 5402 is popping with major picture disturbance on RTG / W9. The Duo is rock solid on RTG & less disturbance on W9.

I've always found my Uno to be on-par with the F15. Good tuners in those Vu+s...

The 2 major firmware problems on the 5402 spoil what could be actually be a decent little receiver for the money.

Another black mark - Ive hooked it up to the 28E dish & its not seeing any of the high band verticals on my 28E dish octo lnb. Tried various ports & no difference......

Ive remade the connections as well just in case, so obviously it doesnt like this particular lnb (a no name generic octo. None of the other receivers have had this problem on this lnb)

V's up to up to 11604V - absolutely tickety boo
V's above 11642V - bugger all!

Fortunately theres not much of interest fta on the high band V's

(Both Hi & lo band H's are fine)

I spent last night playing with the networking settings - I can change the IP addresses as much as I like, but DHCP off doesnt actually do anything! The DHCP on setting (192.168.1.85) remains even after switching DHCP off and assigning 192.168.1.19 to it! The receiver says its changed - the router says it hasnt..... I cant even do a full on/off to see if it sticks which I have to do when I change IP's on the network printers at work- on the 5402 as soon as the power is lost DHCP ON comes back.

:-doh
