Hopefully someone can help me please.I was trying to add a channel on my TM-7100 HD when all of a sudden it rebooted. When is starts back up again it gets to the technomate "world" screen and reboots again. It just keeps doing this, I can't stop it.Any suggestions please?

Try switching it off, unplug the satellite cable, switch it back on and delete the channel that it tries to start up on (hopefully with no signal it won't crash). Then switch off and plug the satellite cable back in and try again.

Got really excited there because I hadn't thought of that. Unfortunately after doing the above it still reboots. I can see it says BBC1 HD in the receiver window but shortly afterwards it reboots. Any other suggestions gladly accepted.

Hmm, sorry, not sure what else to suggest. You could try flashing the box with new firmware via a serial cable but do that at your own risk.

Edit: Just a thought, the 7100 is a twin tuner so I assume you took both satellite feeds out?

Yes I took all cables out except the power just to be sure! Flashing the firmware was my next step I was really hoping though there was an easier route like a remote control button combination or something similar. No such luck by the sound of it. Thanks for your help so far, if you think of anything else or any one else has a suggestion I'm all ears (or eyes in this case)

From another forum ...

you need to do a forced download mate give this a try.
*****************
if you have a bad download or your receiver locks up this is how to
clear the problem, you can only do this procedure with a [null modem cable]
if your model has a [usb port], this wont work useing a [memory stick]
first turn the receiver off with the switch on the rear panel of your receiver.
next connect your null modem cable from your computer 9 pin com port
to the rs232 port on the receiver, you can now use either the official opperating software from technomate.com or load the latest patch for your model, after loading the software on the v187 loader and you click connect
when the darkman v1.87 loader asks connect the receiver and turn it on
go to the receiver and turn it on again with the switch on the rear panel
turning the receiver on at the rear will force the download and clear the problem caused by any incomplete downloads or faulty patches etc:.
after the download has fully loaded the box should now boot and work normally and the channels open
*****************************
some take the lnb cable from the receiver before doing this download
if you remove the lnb cable make sure the receiver is turned [off] before
you [remove or re-connect the lnb cable].

Well mariust, it's funny you should post that. I saw that post on the other forum tonight ( hadn't check back here in the last couple of days). I had got hold of a null modem cable and had replaced the firmware, this made no differance. Tried lots of times but to no avail. Even tried to upload default channels but as soon as the loader detected the receiver and I pressed start; of course the bloody receiver rebooted!!! Anyway, I saw the post you kindly copied above on the other forum and read it several times, the bit which I had not done was the last paragraph, disconnecting the cables and uploading the firmware.. I had disconnected the cable and turned on the reciever earlier in the week thanks to timo's suggestion however, it had made no difference. But what I had not done was to disconnect the cables from the back and then return the firmware back to the original version. This I did tonight and it worked!!!! I've now deleted the channels, updated the firmware and added the channels again and it is now working.

Timo_w2s and mariust5 THANK YOU so much for your help, I'm back in the good books with the wife again!!

I had the same problem recently with a tm7100, a quick way to clear is turn of the box at the back, while holding down the menu button turn the box back on. you will the get a menu with 4 choices, scroll down to factory reset select it and it clears the problem. The just reload your firmware from usb as normal. This also applied to the TM 6000 and 5000 series.
